Research interest
Dengue virus (DENV) infection is one of the leading causes of arthropod-borne viral disease. Up till now, there are no licensed antiviral drugs or therapeutics for DENV treatment. The viral protein, non-structural protein 1 (NS1) plays a key factor during DENV infection, with intracellular roles in viral RNA replication and virion production as well as extracellular roles in plasma leakage and immune evasion. Therefore, my research interests focus on the pathogenesis and potential clinical application of NS1.
The main direction of my laboratory is:
- The roles of dengue virus NS1 on regulating cellular homeostasis.
- The secretory pathways of NS1.
- Development of dengue virus NS1-based subunit vaccine and therapeutic antibody for effective and extensive application.
