Research interest
Microbiome plays a crucial role in immune function, with dysbiosis linked to allergic diseases, mucosal inflammation, and metabolic-related conditions. My research focuses on allergic and mucosal inflammatory diseases. Building on my previous work in developing active anti-allergy components from probiotics to improve allergic asthma and studying how environmental microbial exposure exacerbates allergic inflammation, my laboratory aims to expand into mucosal inflammation, exploring microbiome-host immune interactions.
The main research direction of my laboratory is:
- Investigating the mechanisms by which probiotics or beneficial commensal bacteria improve allergic and mucosal inflammatory diseases.
- Developing strategies to control immunometabolism for the treatment of allergic and mucosal inflammatory diseases.
- Using microbiome-based biomarkers for diseases and developing microbiome transplantation methods to treat allergic and mucosal inflammatory diseases.
