Research interest

Microbiome plays a crucial role in immune function, with dysbiosis linked to allergic diseases, mucosal inflammation, and metabolic-related conditions. My research focuses on allergic and mucosal inflammatory diseases. Building on my previous work in developing active anti-allergy components from probiotics to improve allergic asthma and studying how environmental microbial exposure exacerbates allergic inflammation, my laboratory aims to expand into mucosal inflammation, exploring microbiome-host immune interactions.

The main research direction of my laboratory is:

  1.  Investigating the mechanisms by which probiotics or beneficial commensal bacteria improve allergic and mucosal inflammatory diseases.
  2.  Developing strategies to control immunometabolism for the treatment of allergic and mucosal inflammatory diseases.
  3.  Using microbiome-based biomarkers for diseases and developing microbiome transplantation methods to treat allergic and mucosal inflammatory diseases.
